The app: no accounts, no telemetry
- No account or sign-in, for the free version or Pro.
- No analytics, usage tracking, crash reporting or advertising identifiers.
- Your song library, service orders, Bible imports, media and settings are stored only on your computer.
- Your OBS password, stream key, stream status and camera addresses stay on your computer and local network.
- License keys are checked on the computer itself. Activating Pro sends nothing anywhere.
Update checks
Lanthorn Studio checks updates.lanthornstudio.app for new versions. That request sends what any download does (your IP address, the app version and the platform) so we can offer the right update. With Pro, it also sends your license ID (for example LAN-7F3A21C9, not your name or email) so the server can tell whether your license includes that update. Updates are cryptographically signed, and Lanthorn Studio refuses one whose signature doesn’t match. Our server keeps standard access logs for up to 30 days for security, then deletes them.
Cloud workspace (Multi-campus, only if you turn it on)
If you have a Multi-campus license and join a computer to the cloud workspace, Lanthorn Studio sends your songs, services, media files and looks to cloud.lanthornstudio.app so your other computers can get them, along with each computer’s name, platform and app version, and a short summary of what it has on screen (for the Team tab). That data is stored on Cloudflare’s network (Durable Objects and R2 storage), is only available to computers signed in with your license, and is not used for anything else. Bibles and your screen, OBS and camera settings are never sent. To delete your workspace’s data, email us from the address on your license; leaving the workspace in the app stops a computer syncing but keeps its own copy.
Your local network
The stage display and phone remote are served by Lanthorn Studio on your local network (port 7310) and are not reachable from the internet unless you deliberately forward that port. Connections to OBS and PTZ cameras happen directly between your devices.
Livestreaming
When you go live, the stream is sent by OBS to the service you configured (for example Facebook or YouTube). That service’s own privacy policy applies to the stream; we don’t see or store it.
Buying Pro
When you buy Pro or a renewal, here’s who handles what:
- Valor PayTech processes the payment on its own secure page. Your card number never touches our site or our servers; we only receive the result, the amount and the last four digits for your receipt.
- Cloudflare hosts this site and stores your order: the name and email you gave, the plan, the amount, the date, your country (from your connection) and your license details. We also keep a one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself) to limit abuse of the checkout. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is placing the order.
- Resend delivers the email with your license key and receipt.
We keep order records for as long as we need them for your license, renewals, refunds and our tax records. We don’t sell or share them, and we don’t send marketing email.
Donations
The “Buy me a coffee” button takes you to Buy Me a Coffee’s website; their privacy policy applies there. A donation doesn’t unlock anything and isn’t linked to your license.
This website
lanthornstudio.app uses no advertising, tracking cookies or third-party trackers, and the fonts are hosted here. The buy page loads Cloudflare Turnstile for the anti-spam check. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time, browser) for up to 30 days.
If you write to us, we keep your message to answer it and don’t share it. Ask and we’ll delete it, along with any order details we aren’t required to keep.
